This summer, I had the joy of photographing a stunning wedding in Caledonia, Michigan, just outside Grand Rapids for Garrett and Alaina. Nestled in a picturesque sand pit, the venue offered a unique backdrop that perfectly complemented the couple’s love story!

It was such a funny connection we had- I graduated high school with Garrett and played middle school club soccer with Alaina but they never crossed paths due to going to different schools. So when their inquiry came in, my jaw dropped! One because I had no clue they were together and two because knowing them both it just made so much sense to me that they were together. So when they chose me to document their day, I was beyond excited to see them become one in marriage!

We started off the day with fun getting ready sites for both Alaina and Garrett. They were surrounded by their best friends and were filled with anticipation for the ceremony to come in only a few hours. 

But before “I do”, Alaina and Garrett had a first look where they shared private vows and had a moment to soak in the day together before the events went on. The emotion and pure excitement both of them had brought tears to my eyes! The dedication these two have to keeping Christ as the center is such an inspiration. 

The ceremony wasn’t anything different! There were sweet glances from Alaina’s dad as he walked her down the isle, tender hugs from grandparents, moments of worship, and loud cheers as they were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter.

The only thing left to do was celebrate with all their people! They had a beautiful tent set up covering everyone from the sun as dinner was served, speeches were shared, and cake was cut. 

As the sun was setting, I stole them away for a few minutes to a hilltop close by to capture some golden moments between them both. We played with the light, the greenery around them, and the joyful interactions they effortlessly shared. 

They ended their night on the dance floor with a soft sunset surrounding their outdoor venue. What a beautiful conclusion to a day that Alaina and Garrett planned for months and shared together with nothing but love for each other and joy for the future to come. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter! Beyond blessed to have reconnected with them both.
